Lights out.

I turned off the lights in my office for the last time yesterday.

It was bittersweet. I've spent many (emphasis on many) hours in this office over the last eight years. I am happy to move on to my new job with new challenges (on Monday. Who doesn't take time off between jobs?! Apparently I don't.), but sad to leave behind a core group of colleagues I will miss working with.

I will also miss the stellar view from my office window of the Chrysler Building.

But the funny thing is I'll only be down the street. That's right -- one of the biggest cities in the world and I managed to find myself a job one block away. Go figure!

Hopefully I'll be able to do a better job of finding work/life balance this time around. That's the one thing I've failed miserably at.

Besides, I have blogging to catch up with!

I hope you'll stick with me while I continue to sort out my new life over the next couple of weeks. I mean, it's yard sale season! That's peak season here at the shorehouse.

Happy spring everyone.

I am so happy for you. You knew it was the right thing to do, and you acted on it. You may have had a stellar view of the Chrysler bldg. however, you are the stellar star for being brave enough to make "the move".
Much success to you!

Monday you head to a new office, and I head to Costa Rica with 10 18 year olds and one other teacher.

Good luck in your adventure, and let's hope your new job lasts a lot longer than the 8 days I'll be gone!!!!

I hope your Monday goes great! I think we all struggle with that life/work balance. I know that there are times I'm better at it than others. But, somehow you get caught up in a project and before you know it--Well you're working late AGAIN! So, here's wishing a fantastic new beginning!

Did you tell me that this new job came with Friday's off? I wish you great success in your new office, and remember that you aren't leaving behind your former coworkers, you are expanding your horizons and possibly theirs as well.

Congrats on your new job. Very exciting. It's funny how small our big city can be. Can't wait to hear the updates.

Laura wishing you great success at your new digs. The good thing you are only a block away to still meet your friends from work for lunch or better yet happy hour. xo

Think about how many individual offices are in between your old and new one! :)

I hope this job exceeds your expectations. Work/life balance is hard to achieve, but all the worthy things tend to be.

Thanks for the kind thoughts last week.

I know like gets in the way of blogging - it happens to me all the time, but I will browse through your past posts and put you on my favourites list so I can check back often to see if you are posting again. Happy New Year, Laura!

I have missed you like a front tooth, so I was thrilled to see you pop up. I'm so glad you will be returning to us, and I hope that you will be freed from being snowbound soon. I wish you would come to St. Augustine. It's been a tad chilly, but we've been cold all over the state, all the way to Key West. Fortunately, no blizzards! LOL!

Love you and wish you the very happiest of New Years!

xo,

Sheila :-)
