A world of technical difficulties...

"If it's not one thing it's another thing."

Since my last post, the old computer caught a virus that's making that crazy flu going around look tame. Thankfully, no one except Mr. Gateway is suffering and since he's an inanimate object, well...life will go on.

But my blogging will not go on until we nip the cootie in the bud. I'm checking in from a "guest computer"...I teased my Antiques Roadshow visit in my last post and hate to leave you hanging! (Though, truth told, in retelling the story today I realized maybe it's only interesting to me?)

In better news, a thrifty jaunt earlier today turned up the 12" globe in the photo above. And just look at the price! Sometimes I surprise even myself.

What about the rest of you? Any (happy) surprises this weekend?

Update: Since I'm back online, I think I'll take a look at the other Thrifty Treasures today over at Bloggeritaville. I mean, after all my 50 cent globe is the thriftiest thing that crossed the shore house steps in recent weeks!

I'm so sorry to hear of the bug! That really stinks. But so happy to hear of your new globe purchase - what a great deal! :)

Not too much new here... unpacking, unpacking, and yes, more unpacking!

Oh..sorry about your bug! I am up at the lake and was so thrilled to have a signal but it keeps going in and out... and then I look at your globe and I think of how big our world is.... Jeez Jane, just go out and look at the stars!!

Nasty bugs! I don't like bugs. I'm glad the bug didn't keep you away from shoppping and finding your wonderful treasure.

This week I have 2 cocktail forks. I want to sneak over to a sale this morning, but I have people coming over for a cookout. Do you think they would find a quick run through the drive-thru dinner and be as excited for any treasures I bring home?!!

Have a golden day! xoxo

Nothing worse than a 'puter virus..had one myself a few years back and lost EVERYTHING! Hmm..any surprises this week? I would say the Yanks being 0-8 against the Sox, but I'm no longer surprised *sigh*

I've been wondering where you've been. I am looking forward to the Antique's Roadshow post. I'll find it interesting so that would be at least two of us!

I have a Mac so I've never had a virus. They're good that way. Hope you get things cleared up soon!

Excuse me, but umm, that was MY globe in 1974.
And I want it BACK ;-)

Cool!!! But I hope you negotiated it down to at least 40c! (haha). And I wish there was a shot to prevent computer viruses. I mean no program really seems to be able to keep up with those computer wizards who spread their frustrations around World Wide Web.

Sorry to hear about the bug - all sorted now?? Loving that globe, I think there something very cool about owning a globe. I often checkout old ones in antique stores, but they are normally horribly expensive. But I'm loving yours ;)

Fabulous globe. And I thought mine was a good deal at $1.91. Love the colors in it.

I am so hating you for buying my globe!! I think I may convince my grandma or brother in law to give me theirs since they both have ones that neither one is using...and I am homeschooling so I could use one!!

I hate it when my computer is not up to snuff!! It's not pretty or fun...

Love the globe - hate those nasty viruses! I bought a MAC so that I wouldn't have to deal with those issues and yet I had a major hard drive melt down after a year! Computers are just not safe lol but so many of my friends live there :)
