Now we're really rockin'.

The rockers have arrived.

The other lady of the house surveys...

...steps away...

...And returns to flash her under-bite smile of approval.

Speaking of rockin', we went to an amazing live show last night.
The Avett Brothers played at the historic Stony Pony (The House that Bruce Built), walking distance from our house! When I first saw them a couple of years back, it was in a bar where there were like 20 other people (and five were with me). And I think I actually welled up – like, tears! – listening to the amazing, raw talent that I was fortunate enough to have standing (and stomping) in front of me (thanks to my brother, the master of music). Kind of The Clash meets Billy Bragg meets Johnny Cash. With a banjo. And a cello. (Yeah; these guys are pretty indescribable.) And last night, in this legendary live music mecca, tons of people were shouting out lyrics, erupting into applause lasting clear into the next song, and scooping up CDs and other swag. It’s so heartening to see this band (finally) thriving in this day of canned, overproduced music churned out by marginally talented “musicians.”

After the show, I came home, sat in my new rocking chair, thought about what a great life this is, and rocked to sleep with a smile on my face.

The band sounds great! I am going to see if I can find some music samples online, or a web site. They sound like something right up my alley!
Speaking of Bruce, when I was 16 I was a HUGE Springstten fan and always wanted to go to the Stone Pony, Asbery Park-just to say I did. What history!
