Snow day.

That is my car at about 8:30 this morning. Perhaps we will see her again in the spring.

The Jersey Shore surprisingly got more snow than just about anyplace I've heard of. We never get snow....n-e-v-e-r. A couple of inches is a big deal. Mike and the Maggie dog are trapped like hamsters in a habitrail.

Mike, clearly a descendant of one of the original Wise Men, made me get in his car yesterday morning in my pajamas to get out of there and back to our apartment. Today, I will be hosting an abbreviated version of the annual cookie exchange here for about eight women who are intrepid enough to come out (it should be noted they all have small children at home. ;-).

It goes to show, nothing can separate a woman from her cookies.

You should be having a shoveling out party!! ;-)

Yes, there is more snow than I have ever seen! Amazing!! If you find yourself heading shorewise tonight, stop in at around 7:30 for drinks and dessert. There will be no abbreviated party here, most of the guests will be walking across the street.

We heard the shore area was hit the most in the state. I'm in Morris County, and we have about 8-10"s. Thank goodness the snow is soft. It was fairly easy to push off the car roof and pull out. Good luck to you, and have fun at your cookie party!!

Oh Laura, I think it is JUST BEAUTIFUL!!! I hope you are enjoying the warm yellow glow of your INDOOR Christmas lights, a good cup of warm latte or coco, and a warm fire.

Oh, and a jig saw puzzle is nice on those days too - - -

Laura -

Yes we did get blizzardized didn't we?! If I were closer to Hoboken -- town of beautiful brownstones, pubs and steak houses that serve up pieces of beef Fred Flinstone was accustomed to -- I'd be there with bells on. Some clothes too, I mean after all it is cold outside. Besides I would then have to pick up some bakery cookies, smudge flour on my face and lie that I was baking all day.
Enjoy, my friend!

Oh wow you got a lot of snow! We got about 14 inches and I'd say half melted into grey slush by this afternoon

Hope your cookie exchange was a success!

PS: You must have seen the documentary "Dyker Lights" on PBS

What a cool scenery..., it is pretty, isn't it. You clearly got more snow than we did in coastal RI.
By now you've probably shoveled your way out!

Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, Laura!!

Laura- Oh my goodness I can't believe all the snow!!
It seems like yesterday I popped on over here during the cookie exchange last year. Merry Christmas my friend! xoxo

Laura, just wanted to pop in and wish you and yours a happy and healthy holiday! Hope you have a wonderful time :)

On another note, as I mentioned to Pat..we traded Melky for the guy who gave up the grand slam to Johnny Damon in game 7 of the '04 ALCS. UGH, never wanted to see Javier in pinstripes again. Oh well :(

I found it so funny, that we Jersey Shore, NJ inhabitants, who do not see alot of snow...well, when we got hit with this semi-blizzard, so many of us just had to take pictures, me included....(they were posted all over Facebook, among other places). it's just so funny. but this is how we live 'down the shore'....and that's why we don't live in Vermont or Maine or Minnesota. but someone played a cruel trick on us. it was beautiful and the kids had an extra few days off from school, but let's hope we have an early spring!!!!

Wow that is a lot of snow for most places, too funny the comment about moms needing to get out. Have a wonderful white coated holiday.

I have always told the Boss that it never snows at the Jersey shore...I guess I can't do that anymore....
