While we're all winners...

…a select few are the winners of my Cottage Charm Giveaway, hosted by the Twice Remembered Cottage.

Your comments – all 123 of them (wowza!) – made my day. I loved to see how many people also had a penchant for teacups (I think I know what my next giveaway will be…) and shared many memories of vintage telephone desks like the little gem I picked up.

I turned to Random.org to help me pick a winner for my teacup giveaway, and (s)he said it was number 113.
Comment #113, and the prize, belongs to Allison at A Little Shabby Always Chic. After reading her comment:

I would love to win this giveaway! I need a new teacup after one of mine broke in an earthquake. I would be so excited if I won! Stop by anytime!

...and then seeing
her post from Friday, I am sure that she was meant to be my winner. Congratulations, Allison!

Then, there were the two “Y” monogram spoons I had to give away.

Many comments cracked me up…I love the “attempted Ys” – like NancY from Live, Love, Laugh who capitalized the Y for emphasis (ha!), Spencer at Bellamere Cottage who was willing to change her name to “Yipppeee,” and my absolute favorite from Elizabeth at at Bluebirds and Bubbles:

One of my loved one's name does indeed start with Y...his name, Your Highness, Bentley Highfalutin. :) It's my sweet Cavalier Pup!

But did the real Ys come forward?

Desiree from Lookiloos has a sister whose last name is York -- and her 40th birthday is in July. Fabulous! But then there was also Tammy from the Yarborough House of 1929 (how could I not love an old house with a name?!). And Hedy King whose student is Yoselin (beautiful name, and beautiful gesture by the teacher!), as well as a Young pair: Laura at Décor to Adore whose very best friend is a Young, and Karen Young over at Journey to Authenticity.

What’s a girl with only two Y spoons to do?

Well, guess what: The thrifty sale gods have smiled on me and all five are getting a vintage “Y” monogrammed something-something in the mail. Y for yay! (Hedy King, if you’re reading this I don’t have any contact information for you – please let me know a way to reach you and I’ll get your mailing address.)
And speaking of winners…wow, what a winning day at the Ocean Grove Flea Market on Saturday! The weather was (finally) perfect, and my shopping companions Jim and Karen literally made me laugh until I cried. If I could bottle up Saturday and give it away to all of you, I would. What a great day.

I’ll post the round-up of what we bought and what we saw, but here’s a little teaser…

Congrats to all the winners! And thanks for letting the rest of us down gently with the "we're all winners" headline. Ha.

Love all the people who found "Y" connections. Too funny!

And I have to say it made me happy to hear that Allison won a teacup after hers broke in an earthquake. :-)

Oh, Laura! I'm so glad that Allison won that giveaway because one of her favorite teacups was broken in an earthquake a week or so ago! Yea! That makes me happy!
And I'm happy for the other winners, too!

AND... I can't wait to see those cool fines. I spy something VERY shiny! ;-)

XO,

Sheila :-)

Hi Laura!
Congrats to your give away winners!

I saw the goodies that Susan from Black Eyed Susan picked up -- now I'm curious to see what you found.

The Renegade Craft Fair is in Brooklyn this weekend -- I hope to go. It's been crazy busy as son and family will be visiting next week for my husband's BIG birthday and my daughter's graduation.
Hugs, Pat

How did I miss those teacups? What a super giveaway. Congrats to Allison. I love old monogrammed silver and would never discriminate against any monogram! Ditto for hand towels. You continue to find and show wonderful things -- thanks so much.
