Flame over.

Well, the Olympic torch has been extinguished and tucked away until the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver.

What did we learn these games? That Bella Karolyi
has a *lot* to say about the ages of the Chinese women gymnasts, and that Michael Phelps is being touted as the greatest athlete of all time.

To the latter I say…Michael’s an extremely talented athlete, but I want him to get back to me when he’s 41-years-old. And squeezes out a baby between Olympics, though that’s not likely to happen. :-)

Rock on, Dara Torres.

What I learned about the Olympics is if you're over 30 they consider you ready for a walker and soft food...If I had to hear about Dana Torres being the oldest at 41 one more time I was going to jump through the screen. GOD BLESS HER FOR BEING SO AWESOME FOR US OLD GIRLS. thank you. I just needed to get that out :)

I agree! She rocks, and should have had way more attention for it. And I second what Jen R. said, what was with all the "wow, this person is over 30" talk?

It sure was fun to watch it all though!

Boy, Bela really did have a lot to say, didn't he? He cracks me up. You know NBC was thrilled to have a live wire like him go on air and say all the things no one else dared to. -Julia
