Run for Cover

One of the only things (actually I think it's *the* only thing) I don't like about having a house near the beach is the whole bathing suit thing. I suppose if I had a smokin' bod I wouldn't feel this way. C'est la vie.

I'm looking for cover-ups that I can easily wash and wear. Look what my friend Etsy just turned up:

And for only $29, this little tee frock is now swimming its way to me from the Lucha Workshop store.

Now a little something I don't feel like covering up: The lovely Rue from Rue's Peanut Butter and Jelly Life (great blog name, right? When she was dating her now husband, her future mother-in-law said they were so good together they were like peanut butter and jelly. Can I get an, "awwwww!" here?) gave me her blog love award!

I "met" Rue when we both were mentioned on
Hooked on Houses' (which I'm hooked on, incidentally) blog. Rue's blog is super sweet. She's in the midst of hopefully buying a new (old!) house which she has great photos of on her blog, and when I first read her story I was reminded or our own up and down tale of trying to land the shore house. And just as our story turned out well, I'm confident Rue's will, too!

Off to the beach...For only the second time this summer (how pathetic is that?).

Love that cover-up. I'm always on the hunt for a good one myself.

Rue's great. Congrats on getting the award from her! I'm glad I could do a little blog matchmaking. ;-)

Have fun at the beach! I'm jealous! -Julia

a great cover up is worth a fortune I believe and I found one last year in the supermarket - you know the huge super stores with food and homeware and clothes and there sitting happily was the most flattering cover up and boy it saw me through some beach parties...love that!!!!

Thanks for checking out my new threads, everyone. :-)

Oh fifi -- good call on Newport News! And Sarah -- one of my favorite pairs of beach shoes came to me the same way. Someone asked me once -- and I am *not* making this up, I swear -- if they were Prada. Huh?!?

You're not pathetic about going to the beach... I went to the beach twice this weekend which is more than I've been in YEARS. It's a sign of a true beach dweller that you can't/won't tolerate the crowds and long for September when they're all gone.

Laura,

Thanks for stopping by my blog; yours is very entertaining and I will be back to do some serious reading, after I get back from the frozen tundra of Alaska..

September will be here before we know it. Too scary to think about.
